The second day of the first week of the Knokke Hippique concluded with a spectacular Battle of the sexes. Although the Belgian soccer team was competing against Wales, the competition attracted a lot of audiance. Set at a height of 1.45m the pairs had to jump until fence number seven and number two of the team until the finish. The goal is simple, finish the course as fast as possible. Designed as a Table C course, every fence down counted as four time penalties. Eventually it was an Irish/Belgian pair that took the win. Gregory Wathelet (Oh d'Eole) and Shane Sweetnam ( Cyklon 1083), both finished clear and set the time at 62.69 seconds. Cian O'Connor (Sam du Challois) and Emanuele Gaudiano (Carlotta 232) came in close, but concluded with a time of 63.86 seconds, placing seconds. The stage was finished by Zoe Conter (Ratina des Tondets) and USA's Lucy Davis (Boucherom). The team finished in 65.56 seconds.
