Belgium on top in Lövsta Future Challenge

In Gothenburg, the last class before the Lövsta Future Challenge has just been ridden. This class was reserved for 7-year old horses and was jumped over a height of 1m40. 16 combinations started in this class and vijf of them managed to keep the zero of the score board. A five-person-jump-off therefore had to decide about todays winner. The Belgian rider Gudrun Patteet was het first rider to jump a clear round in the first round so she was also the first rider to start in the jump-off. She rode a very fast round with Sea Coast Monalisa van't Paradrijs (f. Bamako de Muze) and finished in 28,81 seconds. At that point she could only hope for the best since four more combinations had to enter the show ground. After Gudrun it was up to Martin Fuchs. He rode Ghost de Reville, a SBS gelding of President, to the finish line in 29,78 seconds. He ended on second place. Then the fast German rider Christian Ahlmann cleared the course in 30,44 seconds. He would end on third place. The only person who could keep Patteet from winning at that point was the Swedish Stephanie Holmèn. This Swedish rider clearly wanted to five the audience a Swedish victory and went as fast as you could. Unfortunately for her, Cash du Talus (f. Kannan) kicked the last fence. Because of that, they had to take peace with the fourth place. Josefine Hallengren (Torrada) ended on fifth place. Click here for the results
