With a win Britain's Ben Maher  closes the first competition day of Vilamoura Champions Tour 2016. In a big jump-off he secured the victory in the CSI2* 1.45m - class riding the Zangersheide-stallion Aristo Z. No less than 16 riders returned to the arena and the pressure to be fast and clear resulted in a very tight final ranking. In the end it was Ben Maher and his Andiamo - son Aristo Z who set the fastest time in 35:49 seconds. Santiago Lambre from Mexico, riding the 9-year-old Bond Lover came in second with just less than a second difference (0 / 36:37). Luca Maria Moneta and the Selle Francais - stallion Neptune Brecourt secured the third place with another clear round in 36:96 second. Brasilian rider Felipe Ramos Guinato closed the Top 5 by finishing the jump-off clear with just 0.01 seconds difference between his two horses. Aboard KWPN - bred Zenzero (by Kashmir van Schuttershof) he completed the course in 37:21 seconds, while the clock was stopped at 37:22 when riding 10-year-old Goodtimes van't Lozerhof.
