As one of the last to start it was Bertram Allen who set the clear record time aboard the 12-year-old BWP-gelding, Gin Chin van het Lindenhof (Chin Chin). Allen galopped to victory in 38.99 seconds. Gerco Schröder guided his 15-year-old Glock's Cognac Champblanc faultless through the jump-off in 39.38 seconds. Aboard his Clearway-son he settled as runner-up leaving Kim Emmen in third with her 10-year-old Delvaux (Chacco-Blue). Allen's compatriot Darragh Kenny placed outside the stage in fourth with Balou du Reventon (Cornet Obbolensky). Jos Lansink's stable riders, Frank Schuttert and Pieter Clemens shared the fifth spot.
