Betram Allen takes deserved win in Doha

The final class in Doha could not have gotten a better winner with Betram Allen. Earlier today the always friendly Irish  rider announced the retirement of his top horse Romanov (v. Heartbreaker). And now he claimed victory with his great gray mare Molly Malone V (v. Kannan). In the 1.50m class against the clock Allen was the only rider who kept it a clear under 58 seconds with his AES mare by Kannan. However Roger Yves Bost did close in on the pair aboard his Qoud'Coeur de La Loge (v. Ideal de La Loge).  The top French rider topped the clock just above the 85 second mark with a time of 58.04 seconds. The third place went to Pius Schwizer and his gelding Balou Rubin R (v. Balou Du Rouet). The pair was just two hundredths  of a second slower as Bosty. But was fast enough to beat the winner of the opening class with a clear round in 58.06 seconds. Abdelkebir Ouaddar who had saddled Quickly the Kreisker this time (v. Diamant de Semilly) for this occasions finished in fourth after a clear round in 58.16 seconds. Go here to see all the results.
