Marlon Modolo Zanotelli riding the seven-year-old mare EIS Isaura, topped a truly international leaderboard, as the best young horses from Ireland battled with those visiting from around the world. Eight combinations made it into the jump-off with Zanoelli outpacing his rivals to cross the line clear in 40.65 seconds with the daughter of Tinkas Boy. The result was further proof of the growing influence of Connolly’s RED MILLS horse-feed in the global market, as the winner has been using the Irish made product for some time. Ireland’s Alexander Butler pushed his South American counterpart all the way, finishing as runner-up with another seven-year-old Dekato who is by the stallion Upgrade. Britain’s Robert Whitaker was close behind in third place with the For Pleasure stallion Fabrice van Overis, while reigning European Champion Rodger Yves Bost slotted into fourth place with the Clinton-sired Tenor De Lormay. Irish riders filled the next two places, with Thomas O’Brien taking fifth aboard the stallion Hector Van D'Abdijhoeve, while Neal Fearon and Cavalino 26 finished sixth.
