The British flag was waving high at the beach of Oliva Nova today during the MET as Jemma Kirk claimed victory in the 1.45m Gold Tour class. Aboard her Quelisto (by J'Ai L'Espoird D'Elle) she stayed ahead of USA's Reed Kessler and countryman Jamie Wingrove. Kirk was no match for the competition in the speed final speed class of the day. Together with her gelding she flew over the course in 71.40 seconds. To just leave Kessler and het KWPN mare Rubio Moncoat Electric lagging behind with 72.47 seconds on the clock. Wingrove put in a good effort to join Jemma on the stage. But the rider could not beat Kessler and crossed the finishline with his Dutch bred Bart VI (by Lord Z) in 73.18 seconds. Samantha Mcintoch came in fourth with the mare Estina (by Hearthbreaker). Aboard her mare she crossed the finish line just a few tenth of a seconds later as Wingrove. Dutch Remco Been claimed fifth place by keeping Lumen Ulady (by Guidam) from the wood in 73.88 seconds. Go here to see all the results.
