It was a home win today in Dublin for Irish rider Cameron Hanley and the 13 year old SF gelding Newton du haut Bois. The pair raced to victory with a fast time of 53.97 seconds and a clear round. It was not a difficult speed course however, there were long and curving lines that allowed the riders to open up their horses and move up a gear. There were 93 starters in this opening class. Cameron was 45th on the start list and held the lead until the final rider, securing the victory. There were 46 clears with Irish rider Thomas Ryan taking second place with Cruise on Clover (55.14 seconds). Thomas's fellow countryman Michael Duffy completed the Top 3 on Westland Ruby (55.35 seconds). It was an amazing opening class for the home riders.
