Just a couple of weeks ago Dutch showjumper Henk van de Pol triumphed at the Grand Prix of the D-Tour in Vejer de la Frontera at the Sunshine Tour. This was on the back of the eleven-year-old mare Chesterfield (s. Landino). After negotiations with Emile Tacken some weeks later the mare has been sold to Abdullah Al Sharbatly. Together with Chesterfield, Van de Pol was a price-taking pair. In the past they triumphed at the CSI 3* in Madrid, the Worldcup of Poznan and Budapest but also at the four-star events in Amsterdam and Drammen.
Chesterfield was in ownership of John Steeghs and Henk van de Pol himself. However the new rider is far from an unknown in the showjumping world. Abdullah won the team bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Londen. In 2010 the Saudi-Arabian rider won the silver medal at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.
