Colorado Horse Park (CHP) concluded its first week of hunter/jumper competition with the Summer in the Rockies I horse show this past weekend. Summer in the Rockies I featured a $30,000 Front Range Kubota Grand Prix and a $20,000 Open Welcome Stakes. The $30,000 Front Range Kubota Grand Prix saw 17 entries contest the first round course, and four combinations advanced to the jump-off, where the short course saw two double clear rounds. Victory was claimed by the young Delaney Flynn aboard Irish Horse Stables' Quite Quick with a fast time of 38.268 seconds. Second place was earned with a time of 41.466 seconds laid down by Andrew Kocher and his own Casino Royal. Third place was also awarded to Andrew Kocher, this time aboard Ora De Te LLC's Ora Del Te Di Ca San Giorgio with a time of 37.29 and four jumping faults. In a close jump-off, Bjorn Ikast rode his own Chestina Z to victory with a time of 40.252 seconds. In a close second was Andrew Kocher piloting Ora De Te LLC's Ora Del Te Di Ca San Giorgio with a time of 40.324. In third were Andrew Kocher and his own mount, Destiny Can De Noordheuvel, with a time of 41.611.
