CSI Opglabbeek: Slattery and Staut win finales for young horses

This afternoon in Sentower Park, it was up to the young horses to show their talent. 57 young horses started in the prize 'Stoeterij Dorperheide'. This class was the finale for the 5- and 6-year old horses. A jump-off with 17 combinations had to decide about the winner. Eventually it was Fix Blue (B Zirocco Blue) who jumped to the first place with his rider Tom Slattery. This combination jumped a clear jump-off in 37,09 seconds. Second place was for Jens Vandenberk. He and Cincenetty GJ Z (Cassiro) left the wood untouched and crossed the finish line in 37,54 seconds. The Dutch rider Niels Knape completed the top three with Zalandra. They finish clear in 37,60 seconds. Pascale Haep and Kavalia Van Het Heidehof ended on fourth place. They jumped a clear jump-off in 39,46 seconds. Joka Mardaga completed the top five with Fiesta (Mozart Des Hayettes). They crossed the finish line in 40,06 seconds. Besides the finale for 5- and 6-year old horses, the finale for the 7-year od horses was scheduled as well. 43 combinations entered the show ring in this class with jump-off. Eventually it was Kevin Staut who took home the victory with Vendome D'Anchat (Diamant De Semilly). This combination rushed through the jump-off and left the wood untouched. With a time of 31,95 seconds they won the class with a big time difference. Staut and Vendome already got two third places this weekend, but now he managed to crown himself as winner. Second place was for Jack Dodd. He was the last rider to start in the jump-off. He really tried to equal Stauts time, but in the end he wasn't fast enough. He finish in 38,99 seconds with Jericho (Nabab De Reve). Third place was for William Whitaker. He rode Furmit to the finish line in 40,93 seconds. Best lady rider was Jonna Ekberg. She and Vedrich (Hurlevent De Braka*hn) finished in 41,28 seconds, rewarding themselves with a fourth place. Alex Duffy and Quasita Z (Quasimodo) ended on fifth place.
