CSI5* Basel: Cool and Easy to the victory

The main class of the first day at the international 5-star competition in Basel, Switzerland, closes with a German victory. Hans-Dieter Dreher and his Holsteiner - stallion Cool and Easy defeated Michael Whitaker and Simon Delestre in the 1.50m GP qualifier in the St. Jakobshalle. Dreher and his Contender - son finished their round as the horse's name says, Cool and Easy. Spectators could enjoy a smooth and stylistic masterpiece that eventually led to the fastest time of 54:29 seconds. The international top 3 was completed by Simon Delestre, who showed the Kannan - offspring Sultan du Chateau finishing the course in clear 55:13 seconds. Romain Duguet for Switzerland and his mount Twentytwo du Biches (by Mylord Carthago) secured the fourth place with a clear round in 55:57 seconds, followed by the current World's Number 1 Daniel Deusser. The Stephex - rider teamed up with th e10-years-old BWP - gelding Hidalgo SX (by Quadrillo) and cleared the course in 56:22 seconds. John Whitaker and the For Pleasure - daughter Ornelleia closed the final class of the day with a 6th place in the Top 10 by producing a clear round in 56:44 seconds.
