The 5* show in La Coruna, Spain always attracts some of the world's greatest riders and this year was no exception. It seems that, however, the youth of show jumping really put heir stamp on this years show. Yesterday 18 year old Dutch rider Lisa Nooren won the €500,000 1.60m Grand Prix in true form. Today the young and tremendously talented Olivier Philippaerts, son of legendary Ludo Philippaerts, won the final class of the week ; a 1.50m speed class. Aboard his father's former top horse, H&M Challenge vd Begijnakker ( x Chellano Z) won in true style, blowing in competition away. He took the win over his teammate Jerome Guery and the beautiful stallion Papillon Z (x Perhaps) in the jump-off that saw eleven riders battle it out. Only four of those riders managed to go double clear over the two tricky courses. Italian rider Luca Maria Moneta took third place with the 14 year old gelding Connery ( x Cordoves II), showcasing his natural horsemanship to the appreciative crowd. Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten took fourth place with VDL Groep Verdi TN N.O.P, while French rider Julien Epaillard completed the top five with Cristallo A LM. FULL RESULTS
