CSIO 5* La Baule : Young Irish star Bertram Allen continues his winning streak

The biggest class of the day at CSIO La Baule, France proved to be tricky one as several of the riders had to battle against the rain over the technical 1.50m track. Despite the weather, the crowds came in their droves and the atmosphere was second to none. The home crowd cheered on not only their own, but also the foreign riders. In the end it was the 19 year old Irish superstar Bertram Allen who took the win on the 17 year old stallion Romanov (x Heartbreaker). The young talent has been on tremendous form over the last few months, with a third place finish in the FEI World Cup Finals, and countless wins at various top shows. Allen threw caution to the wind, and in true Irish style kept his foot on the gas pedal on the ever willing, speedy Romanov. He crossed the finish line just over a second faster than runner up Kevin Staut (Ayade de Septon* HDC). British rider Guy Williams took third place with the 9 year old gelding Basic.
