Daniel Damen takes a strong start at Tryon Equestrian

At the Tryon Equestrian estate the Summer 2 series kicked of with a victory for Daniel Damen aboard Bahrain 8 in the Open Jumper 1.45m class. The pair finished their jump off faultless in a time of 37.342 seconds. Almost one second faster as runner-up Alex Granato and Mullaghdrin Rado. A total of six horse-rider combinations classified for the jump off. Only 3 crossed the finish line without touching the wood. Hayley Waters and No doubt was the slowest faultless combination finishing in 38.962 seconds. Aboard Fidel she took a bit more risk. Setting the pase to finish in 37.601 seconds she jumped one rail down. Placing her fourth. Winner of the Seven and Eight Year old qualifier was Harley David with rider Nicole Bellissimo. Together with VDL Bugatti she claimed the third spot in this qualifier. Dutch horse VDL Maleklou and Candace King took in the second spot. In the 1.30m Open Jumper a total of 13 starters went for victory. Eventually it was David Blake and Alejandro who took home the win, riding the only double clear round. Candace King and her Nina VDL followed as runner up, jumping together four faults in the jump-off. In ex aequo it were Ansgar Holtgers (Cocomello) and Hayley Waters (Qurint) who completed the stage.
