During the thrilling first GCL competition in Saint Tropez, over fences of 1,50m-1,55m, about 55 riders, with a lot of famous names on the start list, fought for the victory. The Irish rider Darragh Kenny was half a second faster on Babalou (Balou du Rouet) than Germany's Daniel Deusser and Tobago Z (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve) and was able to win. Simon Delestre and Hermes Ryan (Hugo Gesmeray) finished third, Peder Fredricson and Hansson WL (Hip Hop) placed the Swedish flag on the fourth spot. Jessica Springsteen piloted RMF Swinny du Parc (Berlin) to the fifth place in 77,86 seconds. In the team ranking, the Shanghai Swans of Daniel Deusser and Pedro Veniss are in the lead with zero penalties and 156,03 seconds.
