Karline De Brabander is a Belgian show jumper and this week she is guest blogging for Equnews.org while she is competing at CSI5* Leipzig. Here is Day 2 (Friday's blog post) "Today was a fairly quiet day. In the morning I took my three horses out so they could stretch their legs. Today only Fantomas jumped. At 1pm there was a 1.45m ranking class and I was no.40 on the startlist. Fantomas was very relaxed in the collecting ring and jumped very well. During the course walk I told Geoffrey that I would take all the inside lines but in reality I had to take three wide turns. After my round I was 7th provisionally (clear and in time) but there were still 20 riders to go. In the end I finished in 18th place. Pieter Devos was the best Belgian and finished third. After that all of us Belgians had a drink ! Just before their evening meal I hand walked my horses. We then went to the tribune where we watched a football match between all the riders, they were wearing plastic balloons. At 8:15pm there was a 1.50m class which counted as a qualifier for the World Cup on Sunday. I could not participate myself (it was agreed with in advance by the organisers) so I was supporting my colleagues. Unfortunately none of the Belgians went clear. Luciana Diniz had a beautiful round with Lennox and won ! Girlpower before Mr. Staut and Mr. Beerbaum ! Now we're heading to the hotel, my bed is calling me. See you tomorrow..."
