Delestre keeps winning in Valence

For the second year in a row, France’s Simon Delestre and the 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding Chesall Zimequest (Casall x Concerto 4) have won The Prix SFAM at the Jumping International Valence CSI5* competition in Valence, France. In the 1.55m qualifying round for Sunday’s €300,000 Grand Prix of Valence CSI5*, Delestre was joined by 49 horse and rider combinations on the 13-obstacle-course designed by Italy’s Uliano Vezzani. Although 11 made it to the jump-off track, Delestre would set an unbeatable pace in 40.48s to take home the 1st place prize on Friday, August 18, 2017. Coming off of her opening day win, USA’s Beezie Madden piloted the 11-year-old SLS stallion Breitling LS (Quintero x Acord II) to a 2nd place finish with a time of 40.69s. Michel Hendrick’s of The Netherlands and the 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Baileys came in 3rd place with a time of 41.35s. The full results can be viewed here.
