Demirsoy takes amazing win in CSI5* Waregem

In Waregem the highlight of the evening has just been ridden: the CSI5* 1m55 class with jump-off. The five star riders got to jump a very difficult first round: only five of the 44 starting combinations managed to keep the zero on the score board in the first round. A jump-off with five combinations therefore had to decide about the winner. Amongst those five riders was one of Belgium's best: Niels Bruyseels. Bruynseels has had a very successful season already so the hopes of the Belgian crowd were very high. Bruyseels was the first rider to enter the show ring for the jump-off: he and Delux van T & L (f. Toulon) immediately went fast as lightening, finishing in 36,87 seconds and putting a lot of pressure on the other competitors. They knew what they had to do: jump clear and ride faster. The second rider entering the jump-off was Germany's living legend Ludger Beerbaum. He managed to do what the Belgian crowd already feared: he rode faster and clear with Chiara 222 (f. Bay May Be Grey). The German top rider cleared the course in 36,44 reassuring himself of a comfortable first place in the provisional ranking. Simon Delestre was het third rider who entered the arena. He clearly had one plan: win. Unfortunately his OS stallion hit one fence, resulting in four penalties. He however finished in 36,44 seconds, the fastest time so far. It seemed like Ludger Beerbaum was going to take the victory but that was before Derin Demirsoy entered the arena. The young Turkish rider, part of the Young Riders Academy, started really fast with is BWP sgedling Dadjak Ter Puttenen (f. Toulon) and managed to keep the speed up until the end of the course. He finished in 36,08 seconds, leaving the wood untouched. The only rider who could keep Demirsoy from winning was Luciana Dinzi. Diniz and Camargo 2 (f. Canturo) jumped a clear round, but however their time of 38,29 seconds wasn't enough to beat Demirsoy in the end. Diniz ended on fourth place. Ludger Beerbaum ended on second place. Niels Bruynseels follow on third place.   Click here for the results
