France dominates first day in Lyon

At the Equitation Lyon, the world cup qualifier in France, the first international jumping competition coloured French. Damien de Chambord and the twelve-year-old Playboy de St Simeon finished faultless in 56.56 seconds, taking home the win. Compatriots Jean Xhemal (Orlhenddo d'Halong) and Philippe Leoni (chwyz de la Cense) followed in a second and third place. The jumps were set at a height of 1.40m. No less than 90 combinations took the start. 37 of them finished faultless within time. Unfortunate for Emanuelle Mille and Coquette (by Coriano) who crossed the finish with 2 time penalities, stopping the clock in 77.67 seconds. The top five of the class was completed by Jean Luc Mourier (Wisconsin) and Belgium's Zoe Conter abaord Zeta di Sabuci (by Kannan). Best USA rider was Chloe Reid and the 10-years-old Athena (by Gentleman). The pair finished in 10th position.
