The first Nations Cup of the year in Al Ain concluded with a French victory. Over the two rounds, set at a height of 1.60m, the French team limited the damage to a total of four points. Patrice Delaveau, Philippe Rozier, Frederic David and Adeline Hecart certainly dominated this Nations Cup. Delaveau and his KWPN-horse, Aquila HDC (Ovidius x Lauriston) jumped, just like Philippe Rozier and Rahotep de Toscane (Quidam de Revel x Laudanum xx) a double clear round. Frédéric David and his 12-years-old Equador van 't Roosakker (Nabab de Rêve x Chin Chin) jumped one rail down in the first round. The pair corrected themselves in the second round finishing clear. Qatar followed as runner-up. Sheikh Alin Bin Khalid al Thani was the only Qatari-rider to complete a double clear round aboard his Belgian Warmblood-horse, First Devision (Andiamo Z x Perhapds vh Molenvondel). In the past this horse was competed by Brazil's Yuri Mansur. Also Khalid Mohammed A S Al Emadi and his Dutch horse Tamira IV (Damiro B x Corleone) limited the damage to a maximum of one jumping fault. Italy followed in a third place.
