Geneva voted Nº 1 in the world again

A superb accolade for the organisers of the Geneva International Horse Show (CHIG). For the 9th time in its history, the event has been voted the “Best competition of the year”! Awarded by the respected Horse International yearbook and the International Jumping Riders’ Club (IJRC), this distinction recognizes the work put in by both committee and volunteers (around 700), who together make CHI Geneva such a success.

Internet surfers and members of the IJRC have voted to crown CHI Geneva the “Best competition of the year” for the 9th time. The hard work put in by the committee and their great team of volunteers, both behind the scenes and in the arena, has been fittingly rewarded. Conscious that they can never rest on their laurels, the CHI Geneva committee constantly reviews the event and comes up with something new every year. The public and the riders seem to think they have got it right! Behind CHI Geneva come two other Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping events, namely CHIO Aachen (2nd) and the Spruce Meadows Masters of Calgary (3rd). This full podium of Grand Slam Masters puts the high level of their competitions and their organisation beyond any doubt. There was also voted for best rider/driver 2017. This honor went to Germany's Christian Alhmann in the show jumping category, in the dressage to Russia's Marina Aframeeva, in eventing to America's James Alliston and in the category driving to France's Benjamin Aillaud. The award ceremony will take place in the Palexpo arena on Sunday, 10th December prior to the afternoon’s event, the Rolex Grand Prix. The committee and some of the CHI Geneva volunteers will be invited into the arena to claim the award.
