Germany takes the first manche of the Nations Cup

In Lummen there was just the first manche of the Nations Cup. It was a trilling first round of this competition. There were three countries with 8 faults, so there was a jump off. The countries in the jump off were France, Germany and Belgium. For Belgian the rider Pieter Devos came into the jump off with Dream of India Greenfield (by Gem of India). Devos rode a first clear round on his 12-year old BWP gelding Dream of India. In the second round they got one fault in the water. In the jump off they went for it but they got a stop on the first jump of the combination. So they finished with  4 faults in a time of 51.76 seconds. This made Belgium end on the third place. Olivier Philippaerts and H&M Cabrio van de Heffinck (by Cassini I) jumped two clear rounds for the Belgian team. Karel Cox and Cor van de Wateringhoeve (by Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) got in the first round one fault. Jérôme Guery and Farield de Tiji des Templiers (by Quisimodo Z) got 8 faults in total over the two rounds. The second country that came at the start was Germany. Andre Thieme got fast through the jump off in 39.75 seconds with his horse Conthendrix (by Contendro I). This resulted in a victory for Germany. In the first round he got 4 faults and in the second round he had a clear round. The other riders for Germany were Holger Wulschner who rode BSC Skipper (by Stolzenberg) who got three faults in the first round and in the second round they got only one fault. Maurice Tebbel and Chacco's Son (by Chacco-Blue) jumped a first clear round but also got a fault in the second round. The last rider for Germany was Maria Stevens and Baloubet (by Balou du Rouet) was the only German combination who got two clear rounds. The second place was for the French équipe. Pénélope Léprevost represented her country in the jump off and got with Ratina d(La Rousserie (by Quaprice Boimargot QUincy) a clear jump off in 40.47 seconds. They were also the only French combination who stayed clear in the two first rounds. Cédric Angoy and Saxo de la Cour (by Tlaloc M) got in the second round four faults, but stayed clear in the first round. Maelle Martin who rode her first nations cup had under her saddle Giovani de la Pomme (by Schindler de Muze) got a first clear round. In the second round they got 12 points counted.
