The last competitors of the Dutch showjumping Championships all made mistakes, offering one of the most exciting battles ever. Only Albert Voorn and Tobalio (s. Numero Uno) kept it faultless resulting in a total score of four points and a third place.
The golden medal was for Gert-Jan Bruggink who took the wrist to get inside the allowed time of the last round, resulting in four penalty points. Aboard Very Nice (s. Cantos) Bruggink already had two clear rounds, offering the victory and title for one year. Also Leon Thijssen finished the first two legs faultless. On the back of the Numero-Uno-stallion, Tyson, he finished his final round with four points resulting in the silver medal. Eric van der Vleuten, host of this Championship, had 8 faults in the first leg and a clear round in the second with Wan Architect.
