Gianni Govoni takes a strong start in Barcelona

Today the CSIO in Barcelona kicked-off with the "Coca Cola Trophy". Set at a height of 1.45m the class saw 80 combinations at the start. Eventually Italy's Gianni Govoni and the 13-year-old AES-mare Winn Winn (by Chin Chin) set the record time in this speed class. The pair crossed the finish in 51.73 seconds. Govoni returned home with over 8,000 euro after this victory. France's Mathieu Billot followed as runner-up with the 11-year-old Selle FRançais-gelding Radja des Fontaines (by Hurlevent de Breka).  Vice European Champion, Gregory Wathelet placed third. With under the saddle the 12-year-old Eldorado van het Vijverhof (by Thunder van de Zuuthoeve), Wathelet stopped the clock in 54.97 seconds. The top five was completed b Australia's James Paterson Robinson and the KWPN-mare Daylinde (by Zirocco Blue VDL) in fourth and  Belgium's Nicola Philippaerts aboard H&M Forever D'Arco ter linden (by Darco) in fifth.
