Grand Prix shakes the equestrian village

Once more, the Centro Hípico de Vilamoura hosted an outstanding show jumping competition. CSI3* Grand Prix grabbed the attention of those who spent this Sunday afternoon in the equestrian village. Celine de Azevedo won the competition. The Belgian rider Celine Schoonbroodt de Azevedo, with her mare Bardine, won the Pine Cliffs Grand Prix Cup. The competition, counting towards the Europe Championship in Aachen, Germany, had a prize money of 45 thousand euros, so far, the highest prize money in the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour 2015. With obstacles of 1.50 m and a demanding course planned by international official Bernardo Costa Cabral, the three stars competition was disputed by 58 riders, from which 12 were selected for the final. At the end of the competition and thrilled with her victory, Celine talked about a difficult course, especially in the first part. "I found that the first part of the course had a very good design, with difficulties, rough lines and options. In the second part, the course was easier and I just had to keep calm and focused. By the end, it all worked out, I'm very happy! ", she told. The second place on the podium was for the Portuguese João Pereira Coutinho. One of the biggest promises of the Portuguese equestrian sports, the young rider, with Quala, made an extraordinary competition. "Absolutely amazing, I just couldn't believe it! My mare is jumping very well; I'm very surprised with her and with me. I'm very happy with this result, especially when competing against people who are far more experienced than me ", the rider said. Third place was for Riccardo Pisani. The Italian rider, who had already scored several victories in this Atlantic Tour edition, rode Chico Z.
