Gregory Wathelet takes the lead in Belgian Showjumping Championship

Gregory WatheletToday the first round of the Belgian Showjumping Championship was ridden at Zangersheide stables in Lanaken, Belgium. Aboard the 8-year-old Sea Coast Forlap DC (s. Querlybet Hero) Gregory Wathelet took the lead finishing clear in 66:73 seconds. Just like last year Dirk Demeersman and Bufero vh Panishof (s. Parco) start in a good position, this time as following up. The yet international somewhat unknown Donaat Brondeel and his Sieger-Stallion Breemeersen Adorado (s. Acorado) complete the interim stage with a third place. Former Belgian Champion and Flemish Champion, Koen Vereecke (Allegro C Van de Donckhoeve) takes in the fourth position while the former Worldchampion, Jos Lansink (Zerlin M), ends on a fifth place. Our own equteam-rider, Damien Haelterman had one jump fault at the double combination and a misunderstanding at the last fence. Also the reigning Belgian Champion, Jerome Guery and his 8-year-old Fananka -A (s. Chin Chin) didn't reach the finish faultless. The pair had a total of 8 points in this speedclass.
