On Monday, Victor Bettendorf revealed the owners of his trusted Grand Prix-horse, Mr. Tac decided to entrust the 12-year-old gelding with a new rider. The son by Nonstop will continue his career with Dutch showjumper, Harrie Smolders.
The current number 11 of the world will compete the gelding in the future.
Having allowed Victor Bettendorf to secure an individual qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Mr. Tac could become a new option for Harrie Smolders in preparation for the Versailles event.
This because the Dutch rider is now listed as one of the co-owners of the BWP. Before January 15, horses entered for the Olympic Games must be owned at least in part by individuals of the same nationality as their rider. This is now the case for the Dutch rider, who is relying on the exceptional Monaco. With whom he competed twice second in the Longines World Cup Finals, in 2022 and 2023, and won a team silver medal at the 2022 World Championships in Herning.
