Harrie Smolders on top in Leipzig's CSI5* openingsclass of the day

The international 5*-program in Leipzig kicked-off today with a Dutch victory. Aboard the 13-years-old KWPN-gelding, Zinius, Harrie Smolders jumped to victory in 58.69 seconds. A total of 62 combinations took the start in this 1.45m class, 10 crossed the finish faultless. Smolders took a close win from home-rider, Andreas Kreuzer. Kreuzer and the Quidam's Rubin-son, Quick Jumper followed in a second place after they stopped the clock in 58.86 seconds. David Will continued the ranking on the third spot. Together with the 12-year-old Velvet Brown (by For Pleasure) he completed the stage. Pieter Devos followed on a fourth place. The reigning Belgium Champion and the 14-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Equipharma Dax van d'Abdijhoeve (by Desire du Chateau)  were followed by Denis Lynch and the Padinus-son, Wrangler II. With his win, Smolders claimed over 4000 euro.
