Italy colours the first win in Doha

The battle has officially began. The first class was set at a height of 1.45m in the Al Shaqab Stadium in Doha. A total of 47 horse-rider combinations took the start, no less than 24 finished faultless. In the end it was Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano and the 9-years-old Guess (by Bentley vd Heffinck) (Guess Ter Wilgen) who set the fastest time. The pair finished in 26.83 seconds. Abdel Saïd and Luron S Z (bby Lord Z) followed in a second place. Ireland's Cian O'Connor and Super Sox (by Salito) finished third. Compatriot Bertram Allen (Quiet Easy) followed in a fouth place.
