Italy's Matteo Checchi victorious in Spain

In Spain's Oliva it was time for the MET Tour for the young horses today. We kicked the day off with the five year olds. Here the win was for Italian rider Matteo Cecchi and his Desdemona Di Montefiridolfi (by Toulon) with whom he rode to victory in 34.00 seconds. He also finished in second place with his other horse Bella Brown a daughter by Balou du Rouet. The third place went to Irish rider David Simpson and his Meadly. Later today it was time for the six year olds. Here it was again the Italian rider Matteo Checchi who finished in first and second place. This time he rode to victory with his Pistol Pete 111 Z (by Plot Blue) in 40.60 seconds. While finishing in second place with Sing de Marchesana (by Singulaer) in 41.87 seconds. Polish rider Cassandra Orschel finished in third place with her Dacara E (by Cancara) in 42.20 seconds. At the seven year olds it was French's Jean Charles Bernast and his Cicero Z son Et Moi du Pont Letot who rode to the win in 35.87 seconds. He stayed ahead of Belgiums Lieven Devos with the Belgium bred Kusama (by Diamant de Semilly) who finished in second place in 36.03 seconds. Our own Equnews rider Jean-Christophe de Grande finished in third place with his Dutch bred Flyminco (by Vagebond de la Pomme) in 37.20 seconds. Find all results here
