The first day of the international CSIO4* event in Coapexpan, Mexico concluded with the 1.50m Xalapa Cup. In this Grand Prix Qualifier Mexico dominated on home front thanks to Jaime Azcarraga and Alberto Sanchez-Cozar. Azcarraga and the 15-year-old Matador (by Indoctro) jumped to glory after a clear finish in 61.61 seconds. The combination was followed by Sanchez-Cozar and the 14-year-old KWPN-mare, Wupp (by Colino). Alberto and Wupp crossed the finish in 61.73 seconds, over half a second faster as Israel's Simon Nizri. Aboard the 13-year-old E Muze Yek (by For Pleasure) Nizri placed third in 62.38 seconds.
