Janika Sprunger and Bacardi VDL top the Dubai Worldcup Grand Prix

Only two combinations completed the two rounds of the 1.60m Grand Prix faultless. Eventually it was Switzerland's Janika Sprunger who speeded to victory aboard her 13-year-old KWPN stallion, Bacardi VDL (Corland).

Sprunger and her bay Corland-son crossed the finish in 49.96 seconds. Also Paolo Paini made two clear rounds. The Italian rider impressed last week in Abu Dhabi and now settled for runner-up with the 13-year-old Ottava Meraviglia di Ca'San G (For Pleasure). The fastest time was set by Germany's Philipp Weishaupt. Aboard the Check In 2-daughter, Che Fantastica Weishaupt however jumped one rail down placing third. The top five was completed by Linda Heed with Jarvis van d Abelendreef (Nabab de Reve)  in fourth and Mark McAuley  with Vivaldi du  Theil (Quaprice Boimargot Quincy) in fifth. Results
