Under a typical bright New Mexico sky the $50,000 Grand Prix de Santa Fe offered a nice competitive show. A total of 20 horse-rider combinations took the start in this 1.45m class. After a serious 'battle' ridden over 13 obstacles, it was California's Jenni Martin McAllister who topped the class aboard LEGIS Venice, owned by Marny and Larry Langer. Aboard Legis Touch the sun, Jenni Martin also claimed the fourth place in this class. The course builder set a difficult track with a lot of bend lines and turns. From the double combination to the fourth as well as entering the straight line from fence number seven up to nine, with a triple combination in between, made the class Grand Prix worthy. Diego Vivero and Bijoux followed the pair as runner-up. Frankie Owens and Capricello 2 finished third in the class. The top five was completed by Jenni Martin in fourth and Nicki Wilcox with her own J.E.S. Quito in fifth. Earlier that week the Opening Welcome Stake was claimed by Diego Vivero and Bijoux. Tanimara Macari (Brianne TN) and Jenni Martin McAllister (LEGIS Venic) completed the stage. Co-organiser, Chenoa Mc Elvain and her own Wallstreet RC impressed with a fourth place.
