Jenny Karazissis and Dulcie Lou Morris' Big Shot win the blue in the USHJA National Hunter Derby

The Del Mar National Horse Show always provides an exciting weekend of competition at the Del Mar Fairgrounds for exhibitors, sponsors, and owners. This year's weekend kicked off on Thursday afternoon with the USHJA National Hunter Derby. The competitive class had 31 starters, including top derby riders such as Jenny Karazissis, John French, Jamie Taylor, and many others. The lovely course was created by West Coast favorite course designer, John Manning. Jenny Karazissis is no stranger to being a top finisher at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and this year was no exception. She took home first, second and fourth in this year's Del Mar National USHJA National Hunter Derby. First place went to Karazissis and Dulcie Lou Morris' Big Shot, second went to Karazissis and Hope Town Farms' Undeniable and fourth was earned by Karazissis and Lisa Hankin's Puissance R. Meghan A Harris and Rancho Sierra Vista's Floriano took home third place in the Derby. John French, also very familiar with the Del Mar National Horse show, rounded out fifth and sixth place with Alexander Miller's Wow the Crowd and Double Down Farms LLC's Ace's and Eights, respectively.
