It was Dutch female show jumper, Sanne Thijssen who set the tone as one of the first to go aboard her Celine M Z. The Dutch combination stopped the clock in 36.92 seconds. Only two pairs did it better. Together with Grappeloup Van Het Reenhof (Larino) Appelen speeded to victory in 34.68 seconds. Dutch show jumping rider, Patrick Lemmen completed the stage aboard his Belgian-bred, Ideaal (Andiamo). Sanne Thijssen was followed by Fabrice Galdini with Jealousy (Lord Z), while Great-Britain's Lee Williams completed the top five with one jumping fault in the saddle of Balulu (Balou du Rouet).
