Jeroen Dubbeldam is new trainer of talented Porter brothers

Double European and World Champion Jeroen Dubbeldam will start training USA’s two talents Wilton and Lucas Porter. The Dutch rider will as of the beginning of the 2016 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, join the two brothers’ longtime coach John Roche. “We’re going to have a relatively light WEF before we will be based out of Jeroen’s Stal de Sjiem in the Netherlands from the beginning of April and stay there until December,” says Wilton Porter, 21 years of age. Wilton Porter won individual jumping gold at the North American Junior and Young Riders’ Show Jumping Championship in 2014 and says; “I’m fortunate and grateful to have incredible horses and good results, but I want to be at a consistent level of success. I want to get stronger in my riding and to understand how to train horses myself, with the guidance from my trainers and not relying on them for everything—so that I develop my own professional career as a rider. And within the next few years, my main goal is to qualify for the World Cup Final.”
