Last year Belgium's Jérome Guery won the Grand Prix at the Knokke Hippique. This year Belgium's show jumping rider has already kicked-off his Knokke experience in style. Aboard the 9-year-old Cartogran-daughter, Carielle, Guery topped the first CSI5* class after a clear jump-off in 27.47 seconds. The 1.40m class saw 44 pairs at the start, a total of 22 combinations qualified for the jump-off. Current Olympic Champion, Steve Guerdat, follows as runner-up. Aboard Dioleen (by Rhodium), Guerdat crossed the finish in 29.68 seconds. Jos Verlooy and the 9-year-old Chelsea (by Clinton) completed te stage. USA's Elisabeth Madden tacked up the 8-year-old Con Air-son, Coach. Together with Abigail Wexner's horse, she finished fourth after a clear finish in 30.90 seconds. Ramzy Al Duhami and Bayard van de Villa Theresia (by Kashmir Van Schuttershof) completed the top five. Stephex-rider, Jonna Ekberg ensured the STX-presence in the top ten. Abaord Salto des Nauves H D C - a horse in ownership of the Haras Des Coudrettes - she finished in 34.13 seconds. click here for the results
