Aboard Papillon Z, before ridden by Rik Hemeryck and Gregory Wathelet. A total of 13 horse-rider combinations classified for the jump-off. Setting the time in 42.37 seconds, Guery left Harrie Smolders and Don VHP Z in a second position. Third place was for Great-Britain thanks to Michael Whitaker and Viking. The top six was completed by some of the biggest. Constant Van Paesschen and Citizenguard Taalex finished fourth. Olympic Champion, Steve Guerdat, followed in fifth place with Nino des Buissonnets. Jos Verlooy and his top-horse, Domino finished sixth. The sun was shining over the grounds. With his win Guery took home a brand new Porsche 911 Turbo, an exclusive sports car for an exclusive win. In the corridors people were happy and promissing about this brand new show jumping.
