Johnny Pals is to fast in the Derby of Flanders

During the annual tradition of Jumping Lummen you can see the derby on Saturday. After a trilling first round where nobody stayed clear there were five riders to go on to the jump off. Sanne Thijssen, Steve Guerdat, Wesley Carmans, Dermott Lennon and Johnny Pals. Johnny Pals was the last to enter the arena but was to fast for the other riders in 43.95 seconds. He wins this derby for the second time today with his partner Urjul van Generhese (by Indian Gold van Castershoeve). He won the derby in 2015 and was second last year in Lummen. The Irishmen Dermott Lennon came into the second place with Gelvins Touch (by Touchdown) in 45.53 seconds. Steve Guerdat who started as second rider with Dioleen (by Thodium) had a time of 48.92 seconds. The Dutch Sanne Thijssen came into the jump off with Bulavsco and stopped the time in 49.53 seconds. Wesley Carman who defended the Belgian honor got one fault on the last jump. He had a time of 47.08 seconds with Calvados (by Versailles van de Begijnakker). Click here for all the results.
