Because of the bad weather conditions, the organization of the Spring MET had to cancel a few classes last week, but today the showgrounds were ready for some action again. Several CSI2* classes were scheduled for today and the French rider Julien Epaillard seems to be in the winning mood! In the morning it was the Spanish rider Manuel Pinto who kept the victory in France with his Narbonne Z (f. Nabab de Reve). He jumped a clear round in 55,52 seconds. The second place went to Nicolas Deseuzes. He and his 9-year old Selle Français mare Ulloa du Trefle (f. Sheraton) kept the wood untouched and finished in 56,05 seconds. Rogier Linssen and Dzsingisz Kan (f. Grandino) completed the podium. Hannah Akerblom (Caretto) and Jennifer Goddard (Ungaro de La Hot Couture) ended respectively on fourth and fifth place. From then on, nobody could stop Epaillard anymore! He won the 1,40 and the 1,45m class. In the 1,40m class, he saddled Sheriff de la Nutria LM (f. Diamant de Semilly) for the job. Together they jumped a clear second phase in 23,20 seconds, leaving all competition speechless. The second time, of the Belgian rider Ugo Berritella, was almost three seconds slower. Berritella and Cazanova de la Bouverie (f. Nonstop) ended on second place. The third place went to the British lady rider Holly Smith. With her KWPN mare Elore (f. Namelus R) under the saddle, she jumped a clear round in 26,14 seconds. Matilde Giorgia Bianchi (Coeur Blesse Z) and Aldrick Cheronnet (Diamant de Semilly) ended on fourth and fifth place. For the 1,45m class, Epaillard took Cristallo A LM (f. Casall) out of his stable. He saddles the 13-year old Holstein gelding to jumped to the victory in 34,99 seconds. With this time, the French rider was a second faster than the Italian rider Francesco Turturiello who ended on second place with Scara Mouche (f. Calvaro). They left the wood untouched and finished in 35,99 seconds. Celine Schoonbroodt-De Azevedo ended on third place with Amerigo, a 10-year old Cardento son.
