Julien Epaillard seizes victory in Championat of Signal Iduna in Dortmund

In Germany the Signal Iduna Cup in Dortmund invites to one of the last Indoor Shows of the season and offers a broad programme for showjumpers, dressage riders and vaulters. In today's Championat of Signal Iduna 14 riders returned for the final jump-off in which Julien Epaillard could celebrate a French victory. A total of 55 competitors entered the arena of the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund, whereof 14 combinations finished the 1.50m course designed by Martin Otto without penalties. However, only six combinations stayed double clear. As the last competitor to enter the arena, Julien Epaillard and his mount Cristallo A LM (by Casall) speeded to the victory. In no more than 33:05 seconds the French showjumper, competing in Dortmund for the first time, defeated Robert Vos from the Netherlands. Vos cleared the jump off aboard the 10-years-old Don Gretzky (by Corlensky G) and stopped the time at 34:02 seconds. German youngster Guido Klatte Junior completed the podium riding his Quidam de Revel - son Qinghai and finishing clear in 34:68 seconds. Two German riders placed 4th and 5th; Kendra Clarica Brinkop competing with A la Carte NRW (by Abke) closed her round within 35:60 seconds ahead of Christian Kukuk and the grey Colestus (by Cornet Obolensky). Kukuk, celebrating his 27th birthday, guided the 11-years-old stallion to a score of 37:35 seconds. Click here for the results.
