This afternoon, the Belgian rider Karel Cox was victorious in the Longines Ranking class of Birmingham. He and his Cornet Obolensky son Cayen van het Hobos speeded to victory in 50,91 seconds. With this time he beat the British rider Guy Williams who came in second. Williams cleared the course with Titus (Lancelot) but with his tome of 51,89 seconds he was almost a second slower than Cox. Third place went to Great-Britain as well. Kerry Brennan and Wellington M (Quidam de Reval) jumped a clear round on 53,75 seconds, good for the bronze medal. The young Belgian rider Jos Verlooy rode his mare Farfelu de la Pomme to fourth place. They didn't touch any fence and finished in 54,15 seconds.
