The Welcome Prix at the Central California Welcome Classic rounded off a beautiful Saturday at the Paso Robles Horse Park. The class contained 17 starters and was expertly designed by course designer Cristina Larangeiro. The Welcome Prix was the debut Grand Prix to be held in the redesigned LD Hayes Arena, which features GGT-Footing and a new berm overlooking the entire arena.
"We are so happy everyone is enjoying their time here in Paso Robles," said Adrienne Karazissis of West Palms Events. "The Welcome Prix today was a ton of fun to watch and we are looking forward to another week of competition at the Paso Robles Horse Park next week!"
Only four pairs negotiated the first round without faults, Kevin Winkel and Osophia, Amanda Flint and VDL Wittinger, Kevin Winkel and his second mount Cartel and Sophia Mossman and Carre.
The four teams came back for an exciting jump off, with Winkel and his seasoned mount Osophia taking home the blue ribbon and Cartel took third, Flint and VDL Wittinger were one second off the winning pace to take home second and Mossman and Carre rounded out the jump off, earning fourth place.
