Killer Queen VDM strikes again in the GLOCK’s Youngster Tour Final

The second final test of this, the last day of International Show Jumping at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER Austria, has been decided. In the GLOCK’s Youngster Tour over 1.40 m, 32 professionals in the saddle presented their seven and eight-year-old young hopefuls, whose qualities were immediately evident from a glance at the results. No fewer than 21 of the potential Grand Prix contenders remained penalty-free in the basic round, so there was only one strategy for the jump-off: full risk. Evidently already extremely practised for her age was Killer Queen VDM. This seven-year-old BWP mare, bred from Eldorado van de Zeshoek x For Pleasure, had already been piloted by her rider Daniel Deusser (GER) to victory on Friday in the GLOCK’s Youngster Tour, and took the final today too: “We’ve only been riding courses together for a few weeks now. She’s still very young at seven, but she has great potential. We’ve already achieved some good results. This season we’ll be trying to collect as much experience as possible on a variety of courses, whilst next year I would then like to ride her at some larger competitions.” Conceding victory by a narrow margin were Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) and that smart chestnut stallion, Candinas (Catoki x Cantus). This Holsteiner, also seven years old, showed a good canter and agile front legs, cantering over the finishing line in 41.41 seconds. Third place in the GLOCK’s Youngster Tour Final was to go to eight-year-old Quality FZ (of Quintender) with his rider Jur Vrieling (NED) (0/42.82). There was a bit of bad luck for Austria’s Max Kühner (T) who, with seven-year-old Vancouver Dreams, daughter of Valentino, suffered a penalty actually at the last obstacle in the jump-off and was therefore twelfth. 09 CSIYH1* GLOCK’s YOUNGSTER TOUR FINAL Int. jumping competition with jump-off, 1.40 m 1.
