Laura Renwick takes the Millstreet Grand Prix

British Show Jumper Laura Renwick always has a successful week when she pays a visit to the CSI3* show in Millstreet, Ireland. Today she won the 1.60m Grand Prix with the 9 year old gelding Heliodor Hybris (Diamant de Semilly x Cannonball) in fighting fashion. It was a difficult track which saw many riders bow out early. Eight out of the thirty two riders made it through to the jump-off, which proved to be very tricky for the riders who were trying to put immense pressure on each other. Irish rider Edward Butler was the first to go clear in the jump-off, laying down a time of 60.85 seconds with the 12 year old stallion Cornets Son (Cornet Obolensky x Ramin). It seemed to be enough to take the win until fellow team member Liam O Meara shaved almost two seconds of the leading time with the 12 year old stallion Mr Coolcaum (Coolcaum HIll x Indian Ruler). It looked to be a home win with O Meara's quick time of 58.63 seconds until British rider Laura Renwick entered the arena. Renwick immediately took the lead and subsequently the win with Heliodor Hybris in the time of 56.34 seconds. Renwick also took fifth place in the same class with the 8 year old Irish mare MHS Washington (Obos Quality x Cavalier Royale). RESULTS 1. Laura Renwick (GBR) Heliodor Hybris (0/0) 56.34 2. Liam O'Meara (IRL) MR Coolcaum (0/0) 58.63 3. Edward Butler (IRL) Cornet's Son (0/0) 60.85 4. Jessica Burke (IRL) Dermish Cruise (0/2) 68.70 5. Laura Renwick (GBR) MHS Washington (0/4) 53.72
