Leprevost takes home Belgium title in Lummen

This morning the Belgium Championships for 7 year olds were to be decided during the Longines Spring Classic of Flanders. During the week we have seen stunning  upcoming showjumpers compete in the Derby Aren with home favorite Olivier Philippaerts reaching the final with three horses. In a final that would bring us a jump of with eleven rides, were the Belgians seemed to hold all the cards having three rider having two horses to take on the competition, it was Penelope Leprevrost that came out on top. Penelope Leprevost who took over the reigns Cloe vh Kapelhof Z (v. Chippendale) for the weekend from fellow Stephex Stables rider Daniel Deusser for the weekend, set a time of 35.75 seconds that none could beat. Even Gregory Wathelet,  Jerome Guery and Olivier Philippaerts who all had two rides in the jump off did not come close to the brilliant jumping mare. Runner up Koen Vereecke riding Horst van de Mispelaere (v. Wandor vd Mispelaere) followed by more then a second from Levrost with a time of  36:76 seconden taking the silver, just like last year in Gesves.  Jerome Guery takes second place with Boyfriend du Seigneur (v. Calvaro). Gregory Wathelet  riding Tefnout d'Ouily  and Olivier Philippaerts  on Hunter fall short of reaching the podium.
