In the Netherlands the first day of the CHIO Rotterdam started with a five star Opening Class over 1m40. It was Irish rider Denis Lynch who kicked off with a victory in the saddle of his RMF Cadeau de Muze (by Nabab de Reve) with 59.35 penalties on the clock. Finished in second place was Brazil's Luiz Francisco de Azevedo and his HBR Dance (by Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) with whom stopped the clock at 61.93 seconds. Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten kept the honor in his own country with a third place in the saddle of Beauville Z (by Bustique) with 62.11 seconds. Completing the top five we found on a fourth place Marcus Ehning and his trusted Comme Il Faut (by Cornet Obolensky) who made a strong comeback in competition this morning.
