The first Gold Tour competition of this week at the Toscana Tour in Arezzo offered a Grand Prix-qualifier with the fences measured on 1m45 heigh. Belgian rider Ludo Philippaerts and the 12-year-old Quintender (s. Quinar) finished his second phase in 30:35 seconds, keeping the wood untouched this was the winning time for the Belgian rider. Roberto Turchetto (Baretto) followed in a second place after a clear round in 30:72 seconds leaving Natale Chiaudani and his 13-year-old gelding American Blu v.Eeklelchem (s. Mr. Blue) on the third place.
Ludo's son, Nicola Philippaerts, also made the finish without making a fault. On the back of Rochet de la Vaulx (s. Heaume des Malais) Nicola made the finish in a time of 31:90 seconds. Riding towards a fifth place as German rider Max Kühner (Clooney, s. Cardento) made the finish one tenth of a second faster. Ludo and Nicola's nephew, Pieter Clemens completed the family joy. Together with his 9-year-old gelding, Quality d'Hammer (s. Illico de Batilly) Pieter ended in the 8th place, ensuring 3 horses from the Philippaerts trading stables in the top ten of this qualifier. In total 48 riders kept the score board clear.
