Maikel van der Vleuten takes winning start in Doha

In Doha the new Longines Global Champions Tour season has started. In the 1.45m welcome class it was Dutch Maikel van der Vleuten who speeded to victory with his KWPN-mare, Arera C.

Maikel van der Vleuten and Simon Delestre made it a close-call, but eventually van der Vleuten was about half a second faster aboard his 14-year-old KWPN-mare, Arera C (Indoctro). France's Delestre followed as runner-up with the 10-year-old Coronas-son, Filou Carlo Zimequest. The stage was completed the by Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann with his Que Bueno de Hus Z (Que Guapo). The pair was followed by Julien Epaillard in the saddle of the 11-year-old Usual Suspect d'Auge (Jarnac). Marlon Zanotelli completed the top five with -Figyelem (Vingino). Results
